Who We Are

The IV&V Group, with headquarters in northern Virginia, is a woman-owned small business with more than twenty years of experience providing services to federal, state, and local agencies as well as the private sector.  This unique company began a number of years ago when its founder, Eva Freund, realized that there were no firms specializing in independent verification and validation while there were many consulting firms that undertook verification and validation as part of a larger program management effort or undertook testing under the guise of verification and validation.The IV&V Group provides a complete array of independent verification and validation services to organizations seeking big company capability at small company fees by providing subject matter experts who get the job done within schedule and budget constraints without the levels of overhead endemic to larger organizations.Independent verification and validation services usually fall into one or more of these categories:

• Management and Support — assessment of management and management support documents and artifacts
• Engineering — assessment of system and software documents, documentation cohesiveness (interfaces) and artifacts
• Test/Test Witnessing — assessment of test documentation, witnessing of tests

Recent tasking has included: designing an infrastructure to support and enterprise-level independent verification and validation office within a Federal agency; performing an assessment of software development life cycle documents; and, conceptualizing a software development methodology.

Our staff has provided testing and IV&V expertise to such companies as UUNET, DIGITAL Corp., and Bell Labs/ATT Information Systems.  We have provided IV&V expertise to such Federal agencies as the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the U.S. Agency for International Development, the National Archives, Office of Comptroller of the Currency, and the Small Business Administration.
